Clean up crew 2008

Leaving the Gurnet’s Boat
Hole. See Gurnet Light!

Heading out to Bug Light with Saquish in
the background.

Cormorants await us on the Bug.

More volunteers await us also.

New windows have been hoisted up, and are
on the catwalk.

Up come the tools!

Up comes a volunteer.

And another!

Working on the replacement windows.

Railing problems.

An inspection of the Lantern Room windows
finds many cracks.

First time on Bug Light!

More cracks.

Cormorants have “fowled” the solar panels.

Unsuccessfully trying to pump up water to
clean.

Sweeping the catwalk.

Of course the replacement windows don’t
quite fit!

The lantern Room windows are cracking at an
alarming rate!

Every window has at least one crack!

Inspecting the sills.

Windows washed, it’s time to caulk them.

More railing issues.

The railings holding up the solar panels
also need some work.

Are the cormorants trying to paint Bug
Light white?

Boats enjoying the magnificent October day.

The birds have whitewashed the storm
windows too!

The trap door hinges had to be replaced.

The new hinges work perfectly!

Thanks for your help!

Time to go.

Let’s get a good look at the outside of the
door.

It needs to be replaced.

Much work to be done.

We have to go, but we’ll be back!
